1.Booking Methods
Clients can only make bookings via the following channels:
- Walk-in bookings accepted at our Head Office at 1 Duncan Road, Parow Valley
- WhatsApp Bookings 084 541 7735
- Internet Bookings Click Here
- Telephonic Bookings 021 931 8214
No bookings are to be made through the instructor.
2.Lesson Bookings Code 08 (B)
- Clients must have a valid learners license to book lessons/training.
- Clients could be required to submit a personal information questionnaire to book lessons. The general and personal information required to make lesson bookings are as follow and not limited to; full name and surname, physical pick-up and drop-off address (pick up and drop off must be the same), contact number(s), date of birth, client availability for lessons (kindly be flexible), preferences(non-discriminatory), amount of hours to be booked and transmission type (manual/automatic) Personal information will not be shared to any third party unless otherwise stated by client.
- Office hours are Monday to Friday, 07h00 to 17h00 and Saturdays, 08h00 to 13h00.
- Operating times for driver training are Mondays to Fridays between 07h00 and 19h00 and Saturdays between 07h00 and 15h00. We are not operational on Sundays.
- Should a specific instructor be requested, such a request must be directed to He & SHE admin staff either by email, WhatsApp or telephonically.
- Packages are sold in units of hours. A 10-hour package could be subdivided for various reasons into a combination of hours, eg: 1 hour, 1,5 hours or 2 hour lessons.
- Should you want to use our vehicle for a driver’s test, a minimum of 5 hours training must be booked before the test. (We need to determine your driving skills before hiring the vehicle to you)
- Recommended number of hours:
As driving is an acquired skill, the number of lessons needed would depend on previous knowledge and personal progress. A novice driver would need about 20 – 30 hours.
Should a client suffer from anxiety or any medical condition which could impact training and progress in any way, this condition must be disclosed to the booking agent before driver training starts. This information will be regarded as confidential.
Packages must be used within a 6-month period after purchase date. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of remaining funds.
3.Training schedule
- Client will be provided with a preliminary training schedule once all necessary information has been obtained by office personnel
- The client is given 24 hours to accept the schedule and make payment for the scheduled training.
- Changes to schedule should be requested within 24 hours after receiving preliminary schedule. New schedule must be confirmed and paid for within 24 hours since changes were made.
- The preliminary schedule will be cancelled and deleted by the system should payment not be done within 24 hours after new schedule was sent to the client.
- Once proof of payment has been received, the schedule will be confirmed, and lessons will take effect according to schedule.
- Your schedule may change due to various unforeseen circumstances.
- A complimentary SMS or email reminder will be sent 24 hours prior to each lesson. If you do not receive this message, your lesson will still proceed according to your driving schedule.
4.Driver test bookings:
- We urge the client not to make a test booking until He and She or the appointed instructor makes such a recommendation. The step by step booking process below should be followed in order to ensure availability with the appointed instructor. Should the booking procedure not be followed, He and She DTC cannot guarantee availability of instructors. (see test booking procedure)
- Client must first confirm instructor availability before accepting test date at Drivers Licence testing Centre (DLTC)
- Test booking date and time will only be accepted once client have supplied the booking agent with copy of appointment page from DLTC
- Instructor availability for late bookings/short notice tests cannot be guaranteed.
Code 08 9 (B)Test booking procedure:
STEP A:
Submit the following documents on arrival at the Traffic Department:
a. Original ID Document
b. Original Learners License
c. 2 Identical ID photos
Step B:
Receive green form from traffic department and complete sections A, B and D.
Step C:
Queue for eye test and complete eye test.
Step D:
To book your test date, please proceed to the cashier where you will be told which date and time is available. Phone He and She booking agent immediately to make sure your instructor is available for the specific date and time.
Step E:
Please make the payment of R135 for the appointment to the clerk.
Step F:
Email or WhatsApp the appointment paper to our offices (not the instructor) to confirm your appointment immediately. Not doing so will result in non-confirmation of your booking with He and She.
5.Payment and proof of payments
Payment for driver training lessons can be made:
- EFT transfer or via our online portal only (Payfast)
- Cash payments can be done at our office at 1 Duncan Street, Parow Valley.
- He and She DTC accepts no liability for payments made directly to an instructor.
- Payment for use of the vehicle for the test must be made within 24 hours after booking to secure the timeslot.
- Email address supplied by office personnel or WhatsApp number, must be used to send proof of payment.
6.Refunds
- He and She DTC reserves the right to grant or refuse any refund
- Valid reasons for refunds must be stated in writing by email to the booking agent involved
- Please be informed that once a refund has been approved and your banking details have been received, the refund will be done on the first Friday following your request.
- Please note that all refunds are subject to a 3% handling fee.
7.Cancelation and/or rescheduling of driver training
- He and She DTC must be informed telephonically on 021 9318214, OR by sending an email to cancellations@heandshe.co.za at least 12 working hours before the scheduled starting time of the lesson.
- Should the client wish to cancel a lesson scheduled for a Monday, He and She DTC must be informed telephonically on 0219318214 on the preceding Saturday before 13h00.
- Failure to follow the correct cancelation procedure as pointed above, will result in the full lesson being forfeited.
- Lessons can only be cancelled via our offices and not via an instructor.
- He and She DTC reserves the right to reschedule driver training by giving the client 12 working hours’ notice.
- Test bookings take priority over driver training bookings, your scheduled booking might have to be moved due to another client booking a test in your timeslot. We appreciate your co-operation.
- Should the client cancel a driver training session on the day of the lesson for medical reasons, a doctor’s note is to be provided. Failure to do so could result in the lesson being forfeited.
- We may charge the client the full fee should it be noted that a client continuously cancels lessons.
8.Driver Training (General)
- The learner must have his/her valid learners license in their possession whilst driver training is conducted. Should the instructor have arrived for a training session and the client is not in possession of a valid learner’s license for any reason whatsoever, the client will forfeit the lesson. No copies of learner license allowed.
- As a safety measure, vehicles are fitted with dual controls (instructor side clutch and brake)
- The onus is on the client to approach the instructor on arrival of the lesson. Should the client approach the instructor later than the scheduled starting time, the client will forfeit any time lost.
- Should the client be under the influence of any substance, uses inappropriate language, is abusive or harasses the instructor in any manner, the instructor reserves the right to stop driver training, and the client will forfeit the remainder of the lesson.
Progress reports are to be requested in writing by contacting the booking agent. - It is recommended that a minimum of 3 hours with a maximum of 5 hours training be conducted on a weekly basis.
- Usage of our practice yard facilities in Parow Valley are included in the lesson price. Any lessons done outside of a radius of 10 km from our offices at
1 Duncan Street, Parow Valley could result in other facilities being utilised, of which the client will be liable for. Client to consult instructor on various options.
As a quality control measure, our senior instructor can at any time sit in during a lesson to conduct an assessment on your appointed instructor. - Any complaints regarding driver training or instructors must be directed to the office personnel.
9.Usage of own vehicle
- First lesson must be on He and She’s training vehicle.
- Should the client wish to use their own vehicle for driver training, the full fee will still apply.
- The owner of the vehicle must complete an indemnity form which indemnifies /releases He and She DTC from any liability for damages to the vehicle, injury, or loss of life.
- Vehicle is subjected to a roadworthy inspection.
- As a safety measure, novice learners will first conduct driver training in a He and She training vehicle until the instructor has given the permission for training to be conducted on the client’s own vehicle.
