HEALTH AND SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE TRAINING
It is the duty of the HSE (Health Safety and Environmental) Representative to monitor, investigate and report on Health and Safety matters. The HSE rep is required to accompany inspectors during an inspection in and around the workplace to make sure that all the HSE guidelines are followed. The HSE representative is also required to attend all Health and Safety Committee meetings with regards to implementing and auditing HSE legislation.
Employers who employ 20 or more workers must appoint representatives to monitor health and safety conditions. HSE Representatives must be full-time workers who are familiar with the workplace. Shops and offices must have at least 1 representative for every 100 workers or part thereof.All other workplaces must have at least 1 representative for every 50 workers or part thereof.However, an inspector may order an employer to appoint more.
Requirements
The HSE course has no entry requirements.
Course Content
Health, safety and environmental legislation and regulations pertaining to the specific workplace of the learner.
The functions and duties of a heath and safety representative.

MORE ABOUT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE TRAINING
It is the duty of the HSE Representative to identify and solve problems pertaining to safety, health and environmental issues within scope of authority.
The Health and Safety Rep also need to work effectively with others when participating in the activities of the health, safety and environmental structures in the workplace.
It is also the duties of the HSE Rep to organise and manage oneself and one’s activities on order to participate in the activities of the safety, health and environmental representative effectively.
Collect, analyse, organise and critically evaluate information which may be required in order to address safety, health and environmental related issues.
The Health and Safety REp need to communicate effectively with the stakeholders on matters related to the health, safety and environmental representative.
It is critical that the HSE Rep demonstrate an understanding of the world as a set of related systems where that effective participation in the activities of the safety, health and environmental representative leads to a safer and healthier workplace.
HEALTH AND SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE RECTIFICATION
The Health and Safety certificate is valid for 2 years and needs to be renewed within 2 months after expiry.
