The unit standards are grouped together, normally 4,
This 4 unit standards are facilitated and assessed over a 2 week period.
After the 2 weeks the learners go back to the employer for 5 – 6 weeks workplace experience.

Management of learnership

He and She Driver Training Centre will manage all paperwork, reports for the employer.
I will supply all copies of paperwork; attendance registers, learner progress, learner feedback, assessment results, moderation results and project report that has to be handed in per trance.
Should this be your first time that you implement learnerships, I will guide you through the process, but take full responsibility for submissions to your seta and TETA seta to ensure certification of learners.
Selection of unit standards: If needed, I will gladly make recommendations on selection of electives. (See qualification below)

Rules of learnership

All the Fundamental Component Unit Standards are compulsory - 36 credits.
All the Core Component Unit Standards are compulsory - 30 credits.
For the Elective Component learners are required to attain at least 54 credits out of 263 possible credits, including at least one of the following:

Driver license

Please note that a valid driver license is an entry requirement for this qualification. Should the learner not have a driver license, the unit standards needed for this license will be part of this qualification to train the learner towards a driver license.

Practical experience

To be competent on the driving unit standard: Operate a rigid heavy vehicle or operate a vehicle combination, the learner need apart from his theoretical knowledge, 100 hours of practical driving. Employed drivers normally have these hours as previous experience and this can be certified by the employer.

The unemployed learners need to collect these hours on the employer’s trucks. This means that after passing the driver license, which counts for 25 hours, another 75 hours must be collected while driving under supervision of your drivers.
